Current Position:
Senior Scientist for Hepatitis Research, Liver Disease Research Branch

Current Portfolio/Responsibilities:

Help supervise and coordinate several NIDDK network studies – HALT-C, Virahep C

(both hepatitis Studies); DILIN (drug-induced liver injury study), A2ALL (Adult to

adult living donor liver transplantation study), NASH (Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis

study), SyNCH (silymarin trial for hepatitis C and NASH); chair committees in HALTC

and DILIN; advise Director, Liver Disease Branch on relevant liver disease issues,

including Liver Action Plan; organize liver disease-related conferences and workshops:

liaison on hepatitis and other liver diseases to NIH ICs (NIDA, NCCAM, NIAID,

NHLBI, NIAAA), Department of Veterans Affairs, Centers for Disease Control,

Department of Defense, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases,

American Gastroenterology Association, World Health Organization
