Competencies

Competencies are the measurable patterns of knowledge, skills, abilities, behaviors, and other characteristics that an individual needs to successfully perform work roles or occupational functions. The competencies outlined for the acquisition profession focus on the need for business advisors with customer service orientation, flexibility, strategic focus, and integrity and ethics.

Data Mining Training Sessions: October 22, 2008 –November 6, 2008

  • Training Purpose: To help ACMs mine and analyze the data from the AWCS in preparation for your workforce reports.
  • Format: Sessions will be held virtually to include three modules: FCAT-AWF Overview, Data Analysis/eBlocks, and OPM Competency Gap Reporting Requirements.
  • Time: Each training session will be held for a duration of approximately one hour. (Note: For your convenience, each module will be presented twice to accommodate those who are unable to make the first run of a session).

All 2008 AWCS data mining training materials are posted on the ACC Community of Practice under the ACM restricted access site.

  • Contracting Competencies

    The essential competencies necessary to perform successful competitive sourcing acquisitions.
  • Program and Project Management (P/PM) Competencies
    The essential competencies required to effectively manage acquisition programs and projects. These competencies are the baseline for all program and project management work in acquisitions.
  • Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) Competencies
    The essential competencies required for Contracting Officer's Technical Representatives (COTRs) or equivalent positions. These competencies form the foundation for the knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively perform as a COTR.
  • Architectural and Engineering Competencies
    The essential acquisition competencies required for federal architectural/engineering employees. These competencies detail the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to acquire and manage architectural/engineering services for an agency.
