infoSIDA Is HONcode Approved

Finding trustworthy health information can be challenging when searching through e-health resources on the Internet. The Health on the Net Code of Conduct (HONcode) verifies that a Web site's health information is accurate, reliable, and up to date. AIDSinfo is proud to announce that infoSIDA has been found to be compliant with the HONcode for medical and health Web sites! 


$1.1 Billion Awarded for HIV/AIDS Care and Treatment

Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced that grants of more than $1.1 billion have been awarded to assist people living with HIV/AIDS across the United States and its territories. Funded under Part B of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program, these grants provide primary care, medication, and services for low-income and underinsured HIV infected individuals. The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program is responsible for helping more than 500,000 HIV infected individuals per year receive the care and services they need.

CDC Releases HIV/AIDS Surveillance Report for 2006

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently released its annual HIV/AIDS surveillance report, which includes data reported through June 2007. It shows that African Americans and men who have sex with men continue to have the highest rate of HIV infection. In addition, the report showed that the number of AIDS cases has remained stable while the number of deaths due to AIDS has decreased.
