Office of Refugee Resettlement Associate Director To Address
Florida's 2007 Statewide Refugee Services Conference
WASHINGTON , D.C. --- The U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Office of Refugee Resettlement’s (ORR) associate director Joshua Trent, will speak at Florida’s 2007 Statewide Refugee Services Conference on August 7, 2007.
The conference will address recent changes in refugee resettlement, including greater diversity of incoming populations.
Trent will open the conference with a discussion on current resettlement issues and provide an update on ORR activities. Prior to the conference, Trent will visit a local refugee resettlement site, as well as a Division of Unaccompanied Children’s Services (DUCS) shelter in the Miami area.
The Office of Refugee Resettlement is the federal agency responsible for domestic resettlement of newly arriving populations, including refugees, Cuban-Haitian entrants, asylees, victims of torture, victims of human trafficking, as well as providing care for unaccompanied alien children.
