Boxing Champion Bernard Hopkins and HHS Acting Assistant
Secretary for Children and Families Daniel Schneider to Speak
at Mentoring Conference
WASHINGTON , D.C. ---The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF) will hold its annual Mentoring Children of Prisoners National Conference from Nov. 27-29, in Arlington, Va. The conference will culminate on Thursday, Nov. 29 with remarks by HHS Acting Assistant Secretary for Children and Families Daniel Schneider and a special appearance by current The Ring Light Heavyweight Champion Bernard Hopkins. Hopkins, who transcended a youth of crime and gang activity, will give a speech on his life and the need for children to have responsible adults in their lives.
The Mentoring Children of Prisoners program provides federal grants to support the establishment and operation of mentoring programs for children of incarcerated parents.
