Alaska Native Grants To Be Announced


WASHINGTON
, D.C. ---The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), will award $2.59 million in new grants to 16 tribal organizations in Alaska. The grants are designed to strengthen Native communities, Native children, youth and families, as well as preserve existing language resources within Alaska’s Native communities.

The new grants are to be announced by ACF’s Administration for Native Americans’ (ANA) Commissioner, Quanah Crossland Stamps while visiting four Alaska Native communities from August 13-22, 2007.

The new awards bring the total funding amount for Alaska Native projects to more than $7 million.
