Healthy Youth for a Healthy Future, HHS Childhood Overweight and Obesity Prevention Initiative

WASHINGTON , D.C. ---The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF) will be joined by the Office of the Surgeon General and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to announce the creation of the new “Head Start National Center for Physical Development and Outdoor Play.” 

This event marks the 80th National Child Health Day and it supports the Healthy Youth for a Healthy Future, HHS Childhood Obesity Overweight and Obesity Prevention Initiative, led by the acting surgeon general.  This year’s theme for National Child Health Day is “Eat Healthy and Be Active for a Healthy Future.”
