African American Healthy Marriage Initiative Leader to Speak in Chapel Hill


WASHINGTON
, D.C. ---Nationally renowned experts in marriage and families will gather at the third annual African American Healthy Marriage Initiative (AAHMI) Conference sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF).  Civic leaders and community members who work with and support families will convene at the event in Chapel Hill, N.C. 

Diann Dawson, director of ACF’s Office of Regional Operations, as well as the director of the AAHMI in Washington, D.C., will deliver opening remarks. The AAHMI is an outreach effort to promote and strengthen the institution of healthy marriage in the black community.  ACF has partnered with national, civic, faith-based and community organizations to offer marriage education services to Americans who may not have such opportunities in their neighborhoods.
