GCOB CONTRACT PROGRAMS

The contract mechanism is used to procure resources or services needed by the Developmental Therapeutics Program (DTP). The Grants and Contracts Operations Branch administratively oversees all DTP contracts from concept to award, operation, competition and closeout. Currently, GCOB has general oversight of 43 ongoing DTP awarded contracts with a total negotiated contract value over the life of each contract of $244,977,185. Seven contracts were awarded in FY 2007 with a total contract value of $18,057,031 along with seven SBIR Phase I awards.

The contract program supports the cancer drug discovery and development efforts and is available to qualified organizations including pharmaceutical and chemical industries, universities, medical centers and private research organizations. Proposals are accepted only in response to a Request for Proposal (RFP) solicitation.
