The NWCG Data Architecture Program, under the direction of Allen Deitz , Data Architect, provides oversight and guidance for the management of the enterprise architecture through the development of data models, standards, and guidelines.
The Data Architect maintains an enterprise data model that provides a global view of the data used in the interagency wildland fire community.
The Data Architect, as chair of the NWCG Data Administration Working Group, facilitates data standardization efforts within the interagency wildland fire community. Standards are developed by the business community and will be available in the NWCG repository on the NWCG website. The Data Architect also works with agency data administrators and standards groups to involve them in the NWCG data standards review process.
The data architecture will map NWCG data standards to agency-specific data standards so that NWCG data can be exchanged with other agency systems.
