Executive Summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company (Nationwide), a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) contractor, claimed $415,000 of unallowable Medicare pension costs for fiscal years 1987 through 2002. Nationwide administered Medicare Part B operations under a cost reimbursement contract with CMS until the contractual relationship was terminated June 30, 2002.
