Review of Excessive Payments for Medicare Part B Services Processed by Palmetto GBA in Ohio for Calendar Years 2004 Through 2006

Executive Summary

Of the 66 high-dollar payments that Palmetto made to providers for Part B services, 34 were appropriate. The remaining 32 payments included overpayments totaling $412,000. At the start of our audit, providers had refunded overpayments totaling $167,000 for 11 claims and not refunded overpayments totaling $245,000 for 21 claims.
