Head Start and Early Head Start
Program Overview
Head Start and Early Head Start are comprehensive child development programs which serve children from birth to age 5, pregnant women, and their families. Head Start programs emphasize school readiness, comprehensive health screening, parent involvement, and leveraging existing social services.
Local Services
Head Start services in Region 10 are funded by the Seattle Regional Office, and administered by local organizations. The Office of Head Start's Early Childhood Learning and Knowledge Center (ECLKC) website maintains a searchable database of Head Start programs.
