SUBJECT: Refugee School Impact Grants
Attached please find the FY 2002 Refugee School Impact Program Announcement from the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). These discretionary funds are intended to alleviate the costs associated with educating refugee children in local school districts. Since state departments of education are the only potential applicants, ORR is mailing this announcement to these agencies as well as publishing it on the ORR website at http://www.acf.gov/programs/orr. This announcement will not be published in the Federal Register.
The application deadline is April 20, 2002. This means that all applications must be delivered or postmarked on or before that date in order to be considered eligible.
