Functional Description The system provides automation in compliance with Federal certification requirements. It allows for new cases to be set up and for case management of existing cases. It enables workers to efficiently locate non-custodial parents, establish paternity, and enforce child support orders. Data is maintained online so that paperwork is kept to a minimum. 
Interfaces ALECS provides information on child support collections to the IV-A system, and in turn receives information on IV-A case status and grants issues. ALECS provides information on cases referred to the court system for legal action, and in turn receives information from them on the status or the disposition of those cases. There are also several locate interfaces in which data is sent out to other agencies and is returned with matches.
