CMS has awarded the Research Data Distribution Center (RDDC) contract to Buccaneer Computer Systems & Services, Inc. The transition from Acumen to Buccaneer is currently in process. Buccaneer will be the RDDC releasing all 2007 Medicare data files (RIF and LDS) and anticipated release date for the 2007 files is December 2008.
CMS is considering developing several different Public Use Files that could be used for various types of studies. CMS is interested in receiving comments from the public about these proposed Public Use Files. Comments may be submitted via ResDAC email. When you submit comments, please note which file(s) you are commenting on (e.g., PUF File 1 or PUF File 2A, etc.); if you are offering a suggestion for a new file, please indicate so and describe the research this file could support.
