Expeditionary Maneuver Warfare & Combating Terrorism Department (Code 30)
Mission:
"To lead the Department of the Navy's Science and Technology effort that develops future combat capabilities for Naval Expeditionary Maneuver Warfare and the Department's role in Combating Terrorism through the exploitation and subsequent application of Science and Technology in order to enhance the ability of the Navy-Marine Corps team to achieve assured access and conduct decisive operations as the naval portion of a Joint campaign."
Code 30 is comprised of three divisions:
- Expeditionary Maneuver Warfare & Combating Terrorism Research Division (Code 301)
- Expeditionary Maneuver Warfare & Combating Terrorism Applications Division (Code 302)
- Expeditionary Maneuver Warfare & Combating Terrorism Integration & Transition Division (Code 303)
The three divisions consolidate and focus the Thrust Area S&T investment and technology efforts of the Department in accordance with requirements as identified by the Science and Technology Objectives (STOs). In addition, Code 30 manages a Basic Research program working to enhance universities' capabilities to perform basic science and to demonstrate the feasibility and practicability of employing emerging technology.
