The College of Osteopathic Medicine will utilize grant funds to create a rural health information network that will provide health care professionals access to two-way video interactive telecommunications. This network will utilize two-way compressed video communication technologies among healthcare providers in rural southeast Ohio and will partner public and private communication infrastructure service providers with healthcare professionals in rural underserved communities. Ohio University, centrally located to the project region, will commit educational resources from its colleges of Osteopathic Medicine and Consortium for Health Education in Appalachian Ohio.
