Dina Flamik
Chemistry Student
San Francisco State University

Hi, my name is Dina Flamik. I am currently an undergraduate at San Francisco State University majoring in Chemistry.  Originally, born in Tallinn, Estonia, I moved to the United States in 2002. I am currently involved in teaching under privileged high school students in San Francisco Public Schools as part of my pursuit of a career in Education.

After graduating from High School in Estonia I got into the Tallinn University where I studied for a year. Then I decided to come to the United States to pursue my goal of becoming a scientist and getting a degree in chemistry.

I love for math and science, and I have a desire to dedicate my life to this field. I also know my core interest involves guiding and developing young people. I understand that teaching in the public school system can have several economic, political and social obstacles, however, I have to believe that truly loving what I do is the first step to making an impact.

I was born in Estonia, but now I live in San Francisco with my husband, where we spend our spare time traveling, reading and volunteering in local politics.
