About Kolkata

Kolkata is situated in eastern India on the banks of the river Hooghly (Ganga) about fifty kilometres upstream of the Bay of Bengal. The city has been fondly described as the cultural center of India with a rich tradition of literature, poetry, drama, music and fine arts.
