SteelVis - NIST CIS/2 to VRML and IFC Translator - Download Request Form

Use this form to request a free copy of SteelVis - CIS/2 to VRML and IFC Translator (7.94). For more information, see the web pages about CIS/2, IFC, and VRML research at NIST. You can also run the the online version of SteelVis. An IFC File Analyzer (zip file) that generates a spreadsheet from an IFC file is also available.

SteelVis imports CIS/2 files that are exported by the software below in bold. SteelVis only exports VRML and IFC files. Some CIS/1 and DSTV files can also be translated into VRML models. Other types of STEP files are not translated.

Issues related to CIS/2 and SteelVis can be discussed in the CIS/2 Google Group.

The VRML files can be viewed in a VRML plugin and the IFC files can be imported into the software below in italics. Contact the software vendors for the most update-to-date and accurate information about CIS/2 and IFC import/export capabilities.

After submitting the request you will be informed about downloading and installing SteelVis. The information requested will be used solely to inform you of future updates or announcements. The information is not kept on computers that are accessible to the public and will not be distributed. For more information, see the NIST Privacy Statement.

We would appreciate it if each user at a site requests their own copy of SteelVis.
