Crime and Drug Tip Lines

765-496-DRUG (765-496-3784)

The Purdue University Police Department maintains a telephone line which allows callers, wishing to remain anonymous, to leave information as to drug or criminal activity. Persons wanting to report such activity should call the Crime and Drug Tip Line at 765-496-DRUG (765-496-3784).

The tip line rings directly into a voice mailbox in which messages are to be left. The information left is reviewed by department personnel and shared with the appropriate agency. In the case of drug information being left, that information is shared with the Tippecanoe County Drug Task Force. Information concerning criminal activity is handled by the Purdue Police department or the appropriate agency where the crime occurred.

Callers are encouraged to leave the identity of the suspected offenders, the identities of any of their associates, their addresses, and their vehicle descriptions. In the case of illicit drug activity, callers are asked to relay what types of drugs are involved and the locations of drug activity.

The tip line is voluntary and anonymous. No attempt will be made to determine the identity of the caller, but the caller may leave their name and telephone number if they wish.

Should a caller wish to speak directly with a police officer, dial 765-494-8221. To report all emergencies, dial 911.

TIPPECANOE COUNTY
PROJECT SAFE
NEIGHBORHOODS

WeTip - HOTLINE: 1-800-78-CRIME / 1-800-782-7463

You can call this number 24 hours a day and report your concerns to us. No one will ask your name, you will remain anonymous (not just confidential).

WeTip Tippecanoe County hotline is an anonymous way for all citizens to report illegal activity or crimes. WeTip's hotline is a way for people to get involved in establishing a safer community.

WeTip information is immediately conveyed to the appropriate police, fire, and sheriff's agencies.

Cash rewards of up to $1000 are given for information helpful in the arrest and conviction. Rewards are given using the assigned code names and case number. No personal contact is ever made with the caller.

HOW IT WORKS

When you call the WeTip Hotline:

The operator will say, "This is the WeTip crimeline, please do not give your name."

The operator will then ask a series of questions, designed by law enforcement, to obtain the maximum amount of information about the reported illegal activity.

After the information is taken, if the caller requests a reward, a code name and number are assigned to the caller.
