Your judgment often determines whether or not a situation is an emergency. If you consider it to be an emergency, then it is an emergency and you should follow the procedures outlined for the specific emergency. If in doubt, err on the side of safety.

In an emergency, dial 911. You do not need any coins to call from a pay phone. Simply lift the handset and dial. Or, you can use one of the yellow Emergency Telephone System (ETS) call boxes on campus; simply open the door and push the button. In a matter of seconds, Purdue Police Headquarters will answer. your location will be known and a police officer may be dispatched immediately.

Questions regarding emergency procedures should be addressed to Ron Wright, Director of Campus Emergency Preparedness, at 49-40446.
