WeedsHand pulling helps keep Yellow Starthistle down.
Noxious weeds spread very rapidly and can overtake native vegetation. The rapid spread of noxious weeds has negative impacts to fish and wildlife habitat and also reduces the productivity of agricultural lands. Most noxious weeds are not native to North America and thrive in their new environment because none of their natural competitors and controls such as insects and other vegetation are found here. A variety of methods are used to reduce the introduction and spread of noxious weeds including landowner education and biological, mechanical, and chemical controls. |
