Success Stories for Michigan

School Site Selected: Ontonagon County Rural Electrification Association (Ontonagon) (MI-029), is a very rural utility not serving any towns or villages, however, loan funds have allowed Ontonagon to rebuild its infrastructure to be in a position to serve consumers if they choose to locate on their lines. A good example is when the Ewen-Trout Creek High School was built. Six sites were nominated in the Ewen, Michigan, area for the High School. One site was on Ontonagon's line. Loan funds had provided Ontonagon with money to rebuild the line to three phases that was a prerequisite for the location of the school. Ontonagon's site was chosen and Ewen-Trout Creek High School is now Ontonagon's largest customer.
