Success Stories for Florida

EREC SENDS HELP TO HURRICANE KATRINA DEVASTATION: Escambia River Electric Cooperative, (EREC), (FL-022), Jay, Florida, has sent linemen and workers to the Mississippi coast to help restore power to the communities ravaged by Hurricane Katrina. In addition to sending manpower to aid our fellow cooperatives, EREC has also sent 40,000 lbs. of ice, line hardware and equipment, cots, insect spray, sanitizer, food, water and various other supplies and equipment that will be desperately needed. The process of restoring power in these hard hit communities will be a long, tedious process. EREC is committed for the long haul to providing assistance to these areas. Relief crew members from our cooperative will be rotated as we continue to provide supplies and equipment for the restoration efforts. The cooperatives EREC will be helping are some of the many co-ops that provided assistance to Escambia River after Hurricanes Ivan and Dennis.

EREC is a Touchstone Energy cooperative that distributes electricity to approximately 10,000 members in northern Escambia and Santa Rosa counties in Florida.
