RED BOOK SPOTLIGHT SECTION Editor's Choice New 2009 Recommended Childhood and Adolescent Immunization Schedules UPDATE: The annual recommended immunization schedules for children and adolescents in the United States for 2009 were approved by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. There are three schedules: one for children 0 to 6 years of age, one for those 7 to 18 years of age, and a catch-up immunization schedule for those who start late or fall behind.
