This is an interagency Web site developed and maintained by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Contributors to this website include the many state partners who comprise the National Estuarine Research Reserve System, NOAA's Chesapeake Bay Office, NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Project, and the Environmental Protection Agency's National Estuary Program.

A special recognition goes to Jin Wang, Web Developer, for all the web and database development, and for all the nice features and functions generated for the site. She brought great innovative ideas that improved the functionality of this website. Her work and dedication to this project have been invaluable.

Many thanks to Matt McIntosh, Graphic Designer, who turned a vision into reality and generated the design for this Web Site. He also did the inital artwork for this Web site. Zhe Liu, NOAA's Estuarine Reserve Division Graphic Designer, has most recently, also contributed different design elements on this site and improved its its final look. Thank you very much!

Special thanks go to Amy Clark who drafted several sections on the site; ensured scientific accuracy of various concepts hereby presented; and who took the lead in building a really nice partnership to develop a series of fish factsheets that have enhanced the content of the site.

Several NERRS Education Coordinators, who sat in a Website Sub-Committee, to help advice the design and development of this site also deserve recognition for their work and contributions. They are the people who ensured that the site would remain true to its purpose and truly serve educators out in the field. The members of the NERRS Website Sub-Committee include: Margaret Sedlecky, Education Coordinator (Weeks Bay NERR); Brooke Vallaster, Education Coordinators (Sapelo Island NERR); and Beth Thomas, Education Coordinator (North Inlet-Winyah Bay NERR). There are also several NERRS Education Coordinators who helped shape a vision for this site. In particular, I wish to recognize Sarah D. Ferner for all her great ideas, enthusiasm and leadership.

The pictures used in this website were contributed by a variety of people to whom we are extremely thankful. These photographers include: Gene Wright, Terry Thompson, Rick Tinnin, Kristin Van Wagner, Sarah D. Ferner, George Cathcart, Matt Chasse, and Bill Lovin.
