November 8 -- The recently enacted Federal Erroneous Retirement Coverage Corrections Act (FERCCA) has created high interest in retirement coverage issues. In response to this interest weve added two additional sections of the Retirement Coverage Issues workshop. The 1-day workshop will be repeated on Tuesday, November 28, and Wednesday, November 29. Registration for the Retirement Coverage Issues workshops will close on November 20, 2000. Registration for other workshops is closed.

Increase your Federal benefits strategic resources by coming to the fourth Fall Festival of Training.

During the Fall Festival of Training, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management is offering an array of 16 workshops to help you increase your knowledge of the Federal benefits programs and to improve your counseling skills. These workshops offer an intensive, high-energy learning experience on the selected topics. If you are responsible for administering benefits in your agency or providing counseling to employees about their benefits, you don't want to miss out on these informative workshops.

Be sure to register for the workshops early. Workshops at last year's Fall Festival filled quickly.

Special Event:The Federal Erroneous Retirement Coverage Corrections Act (FERCCA) will give many employees and annuitants placed in the wrong retirement system an opportunity to choose between the Federal Employees Retirement System and the offset provisions of the Civil Service Retirement System. We will give an overview of the major provisions of FERCCA and the Office of Personnel Management's implementation plans at two special briefings. The briefings will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 29, and Thursday, November 30.
