EPA Updating Cooperative Agreements and Superfund State Contracts Requirements

To promote greater involvement in the cleanup of Superfund sites by states, Indian tribes, intertribal consortia, and political subdivisions, EPA is updating the regulation governing the Superfund Cooperative Agreements and Superfund State Contracts program. EPA has issued a final rule entitled "Cooperative Agreements and Superfund State Contracts for Superfund Response Actions," which was published in The Federal Register on May 2, 2007. These changes will improve the administration and effectiveness of Superfund Cooperative Agreements and Superfund State Contracts.

To access the final rule, which contains the preamble and the amended regulation (40 CFR part 35 subpart O), please visit the Federal Register Web site.
