The California Poison Control
System (CPCS) is the statewide provider of immediate, free and expert
treatment advice and assistance over the telephone in case of exposure
to poisonous, hazardous or toxic substances. Call us toll-free, 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and poison information providers answer the phones. Calling us can prevent a trip to the emergency room. In 2002 the CPCS helped avert 61,000 trips to California Emergency Rooms by helping people over the telephone. The Poison Action Line at 1-800-222-1222 is FAST, FREE and PRIVATE. |
