| Wait-A-Bit Vine, Creeping Bird of Paradise, Dwarf Poinciana, Phyllanthoides Caesalpinia Caesalpinia phyllanthoides Fabaceae (Leguminosae) This caesalpinia is rare, and has been placed on the Texas Organization for Endangered Species (TOES) Watch List. It is found only in Live Oak and Jim Wells Counties in South Texas, growing in caliche. It is a low, slender, understory shrub with bipinnate leaves that have 5 to 9 pinnae with 2 to 3 pairs of leaflets. In spring it blooms sparsely with delicate, clear yellow flowers.
