Rural Housing Service-

Making the "American Dream of Homeownership" come true in rural New Mexico.

The Rural Housing Service (RHS) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for rural New Mexico residents by ensuring that they have access to safe, well-built, and affordable homes.

A house is more than a roof over our heads : A house creates a family and families create neighborhoods. Neighborhoods create jobs and jobs create opportunities. RHS programs help build better lives and communities.

Home Ownership Loans RHS offers two types of home ownership loans: guaranteed and direct loans. The purpose is to provide financing - with no down payment and at favorable rates and terms - either through a direct loan with RHS or with a commercial loan which is guaranteed by RHS. These loans are for the purchase, construction, or rehabilitation of a dwelling and related facilities for low or moderate income rural persons.
