Forest Service Facilities for Sale

Current Sales

There are no current sales.

Legislation passed in August 2005 to allow the Forest Service to dispose of excess properties. At this time, the Forest Service is in the process of prioritizing which properties across Oregon and Washington will be proposed for sale.

The process for disposal is lengthy, up to two years in some cases. Please check this website periodically for updates.

Why is the Forest selling facilities?

The Forest Service owns many administrative offices, residences, warehouses and other facilities which are vacant or underused and are no longer needed. The cost of maintaining these facilities is prohibitive in this time of decreasing budgets and a reduced workforce. None of these properties are within national forest boundaries.
