Regional Workgroups

The four Regional Workgroups address public health and environmental issues in their respective areas. The groups are made up of an assortment of federal, state, local and tribal (when relevant) officials from the U.S. and Mexico, non-government organizations, and the private sector.  The groups meet annually to coordinate activities and support the efforts of local Task Forces; identify and prioritize regional environmental issues; recommend border-wide issues for the Policy Forum and Border-Wide workgroups and work with Border 2012 entities to address these issues.  Each Regional Workgroup has one state and one federal co-chair from each country. These four groups also receive support from the Border Environment Cooperation Commission (BECC)  Exiting EPA (disclaimer) through Border Infrastructure Projects.
