Unrestricted Gifts

One of the most valuable types of gifts is a donation with no restriction. These gifts are placed in interest-bearing accounts, and are used for Ransom Center programs at the discretion of the director.

Endowments

The Ransom Center has over thirty established endowments, all designed to benefit various aspects of its operations. The funds are invested by the Ransom Center, and the interest generated by that investment is used for the purpose you wish to support—preservation and conservation, acquisitions, research fellowships, and more. The Ransom Center reinvests a portion of the income each year, enabling the endowment to grow and provide a predictable, stable stream of income over time.

Estates and Trusts

Smart philanthropy is about making a deliberate decision to redirect money and property away from taxes to institutions of your choice. By including the Ransom Center in your retirement and estate planning, you can diminish your tax burdens while supporting programs, collection development, and facilities at Texas' flagship humanities research center.

Corporate and Foundation Gifts

The Ransom Center has many strong and long-standing ties with foundations and corporations in Texas and throughout the country. Forming partnerships with industry, private, and family foundations has enabled the Ransom Center to strengthen its institutional capacity and foster innovative, donor focused giving opportunities.

Research Fellowships

The Ransom Center's research fellowship program assists scholars from around the world to visit the Center for research purposes. Fellows have come from Europe, Canada, Africa, Australia, South America, and all over the United States.
