Julian Barnes memoir among
"10 Best Books of 2008"

British writer Julian Barnes's memoir Nothing to Be Frightened Of was named one of the "10 Best Books of 2008" by the New York Times. The Ransom Center holds Julian Barnes's papers, which were purchased in 2002 and include typescript drafts, proofs, production materials, reviews, notes, and correspondence.

Harry Ransom Center holds papers
of 2008 National Book Award winner

The Center holds the papers of Peter Matthiessen, winner of the 59th annual National Book Award. Matthiessen won for Shadow Country, a reworking of his trilogy released in the 1990s about the Florida sugarcane farmer and infamous murderer Edgar J. Watson.
