French and Italian

The Ransom Center's collections of French and Italian printed and manuscript materials provide a wealth of resources for research in literature, art, and music from the medieval period through the twentieth century. The materials span the breadth of the Center's holdings; they include manuscripts, correspondence, music scores, books, drawings, paintings, prints, and photographs. The Carlton Lake collection of French literature, music, and art is particularly rich in nineteenth- and twentieth-century works and is considered to be one of the most significant resources for the study of French modernism outside France.
