Welcome to the Home Page for the Resource Management Plan for the Idaho BLM Cottonwood Field Office

Cottonwood Proposed RMP & Final EIS 30-Day Protest Period: August 8 through September 8, 2008.

The Cottonwood Field Office covers 132,526 acres of Bureau of Land Management (BLM)-administered land in Latah, Clearwater, Nez Perce, Lewis, Idaho, and Adams Counties in north-central Idaho. Much of the BLM-administered land consists of scattered tracts, intermingled with State of Idaho, private, Nez Perce Tribe, and National Forest lands. This acreage reflects the recent transfer of approximately 11,304 acres of public land to the Bureau of Indian Affairs to be held in trust for the benefit of the Nez Perce Tribe. Read more about the planning area here. Public uses of these lands include recreational boating, fishing, hunting, camping, off-highway vehicle driving, grazing, mining, and logging. The Cottonwood Field Office lands provide habitat for a variety of wildlife and fish, while playing an important role in providing clean water and air and protecting cultural resources.
