Analytical Services Tracking System (ANSETS)

Superfund sampling organizations are required to provide analytical services information for non-CLP work to ANSETS (see directive 9240.0-2C for details on ANSETS requirements). Non-CLP data is generated by a contractor or subcontractor at mobile and/or in-house laboratories. Requirements for field screening are determined by the Regions. Waste profile data is exempt from this requirement.

There are three major methods of submitting ANSETS data. Links to these methods, including a description and instructions are provided below:

    1. FORMS II Lite Submission (preferred);
    2. Web-based Submission Form;
    3. Batch Submissions

FORMS IITM Lite Submission

FORMS II Lite is a sampling tool that allows samplers to automate field documentation and export data electronically. The Traffic Report/Chain of Custody Report (TR/COC) export file from FORMS II Lite captures most of the essential ANSETS data and is a direct and effective way for Regions to meet ANSETS requirements. Samplers can submit the TR/COC export file (an XML document) as an email attachment to holman.elizabeth@epa.gov.

FORMS II Lite export files should be submitted on a monthly basis, no later than the 15th of the month after sampling activities occurred.

The form below includes the general instructions for exporting FORMS II Lite data.

Follow this link for more information on FORMS II Lite, and how it can be obtained and used as a sampling tool to generate the required data.

Web-based Submission Form

Users can submit ANSETS data by completing and submitting a Web-based submission form. Users should visit the ANSETS Web Collection Exit EPA Disclaimer site, and follow the instructions there to register and submit their data.

ANSETS data sent via this method should be submitted on a monthly basis, no later than the 15th of the month after sampling activities occurred.

Batch Submissions

Arrangements can be made for Regions who wish to maintain their own internal tracking systems and provide batch submission of data to the EPA Analytical Services Branch (ASB). If you are interested in this option, please contact Elizabeth Holman at (703) 603-8761 or holman.elizabeth@epa.gov.

For more information regarding ANSETS, please contact Elizabeth Holman via email at holman.elizabeth@epa.gov.
