Who We Are

Division of Public Programs
Internships

The mission of the Division of Public Programs is to foster public understanding and appreciation of the humanities. We support high quality projects blending sound humanities scholarship with engaging presentation formats designed to provide rich learning experiences for large and diverse public audiences. Fundable activities include, but are not limited to, radio and television documentaries, exhibitions and interpretation of historic sites, reading or film discussion series, lectures, symposia, and a wide array of related components in support of such programs, for example, catalogs, brochures, and digital products.

Under the supervision of the division director and deputy, the intern would prepare a questionnaire and conduct a survey of the use of new media for the delivery of humanities content for the public. The survey would be administered via email and telephone follow-up to potential applicant institutions and/or individuals as well as to selected project directors of funded projects and to heads of digital media and other technology areas located in public institutions and organizations such as libraries, archives, museums, historical organizations, and to similar personnel at public broadcast media stations. The intern would compile and issue a summative report of survey findings.

A graduate student in Information and Library Services is preferred.
