We the People: Project Grants for State Humanities Councils

Sample projects include:

• an RFP that focuses on a significant event and/or theme in American history or culture (e.g., Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery, Brown v. Board of Education);
• an intergenerational reading and discussion program for families, recent immigrants, or new readers based on books listed on the We the People Bookshelf;
• Chautauqua performances of important figures in American history and culture;
• workshops for teachers on state history;
• a temporary exhibition that explores a national theme in a local context such as immigration or the Civil Rights Movement; or
• a special We the People series of speakers' bureau programs.
