Resource Advisory Council Meeting Scheduled

IDAHO FALLS, ID – The next regular quarterly meeting of the BLM Idaho Falls District Resource Advisory Council (RAC) will be held on January 20-21, 2009 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

The meeting will begin at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20 at the BLM/Forest Service Office located at 1405 Hollipark Drive, Idaho Falls, Idaho.  This day the meeting will be a new member orientation for our new appointed members.   On Wednesday, January 21 the meeting will begin at 8 a.m. at the same location with the entire RAC on electing a new chairman, recreation, energy, weeds and mining.      

The RAC meets four times a year to advise the BLM on issues of importance to the public. The 15 members of the RAC represent a wide variety of commercial, conservation, recreation, academic, Tribal and other interests.  The Idaho Falls District has field offices in Challis, Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Malad and Salmon.  For more information, contact Joanna Wilson, RAC Coordinator, at 208-524-7550. 

RAC meetings are open to the public, and the public may address the RAC from 8 to 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21.  Interested persons may make oral statements to the RAC during this time or submit written statements for consideration by the RAC.
