Welcome to Katmai National Park sign on Naknek Lake beach.
Under the requirements of the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act of 1980, (ANILCA), there is no entrance fee for Katmai National Park. There are, however, other fees such as for camping at Brooks Camp and for commercial filming and photography permits.
Did You Know?
The world's largest run of Sockeye salmon occurs in Bristol Bay, Alaska each summer. Part of those salmon move into Katmai National Park using the Naknek drainage and end up at Brooks Camp. This is why so many bears gather in July on the Brooks River Falls.
