Research at Ohio State University Medical Center

One of the nation’s preeminent biomedical research centers, The Ohio State University Medical Center is ushering in a new era of discovery and growth in scientific study with the opening of our Biomedical Research Tower (BRT) .

The BRT, which doubles Ohio State’s biomedical research space and is part of one of the most comprehensive health sciences campuses in America, will help fuel the rapidly growing research enterprise of OSU Medical Center and our focus on advancing personalized health care.

Also key to translational research – taking research discoveries from the research lab to benefit patients – is the Office of Translational and Applied Research (OTAR). OTAR connects the scientific community to people who have health problems.

Through research discoveries, Ohio State scientists are making it possible to customize care, target treatment and prevent disease, offering a new level of care for patients. Our investigators hold more than $185 million in internal and external research funding – a symbol of our mission of creating the future of medicine to improve people’s lives.
