Oklahoma team takes top honors in HAZMAT challenge

A participant in the HAZMAT Challenge stops a leaking pipe in the exercise called "Valve/Pipe Tree." This exercise tests the responder's ability to use proper materials and tools to stop pipe and valve leaks. Midwest City, Oklahoma Fire Department took first place overall in the 11th annual HAZMAT Challenge at Technical Area 49. Second place went to the Farmington Fire Department. The Laboratory's HAZMAT team came in third. Thirteen teams from New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Arizona competed in the challenge.
