Welcome to the Search Area
This part of the LINGUIST List site is designed to offer you multiple search facilities. From LINGUIST, you can now search not only LINGUIST issues but also other repositories of linguistics related information on the Internet.

Search
LINGUIST Site: Search the LINGUIST website and database. Search by subject language, linguistics subfield, and/or keyword
LINGUIST List Issues: Search LINGUIST email issues. Many of these are not in the database. For example, older issues and some issue types like Queries and Discussion can only be retrieved by this search, not the website search described above.
Language Information: Language look up by language name, family name or language code. Search the Ethnologue via LINGUIST as well as the LINGUIST List database of ancient and constructed languages.
Multiple Mailing Lists: Search facility for the mailing lists archived by LINGUIST. Thanks to a grant from the National Science Foundation, we now host over 90 linguistics-related mailing lists. You can search all of these or a selected subset with one search command. If you are a list owner, click here to learn how you can add your list to the LINGUIST Archive.
OLAC Archives: Search OLAC. The LINGUIST List is hosting the "Union Catalogue" of the Open Language Archives Community. Currently, you can search over 28,000 records in 26 linguistics-related archives, such as the Alaska Native Language Archive, the Perseus Project, and the Oxford Text Archive.
