AWRA National Capital Region is Reactivated

The AWRA National Capital Region section held their 2008 kick-off event at the National Academy of Public Administration, on Wednesday, September 10. After a welcome from AWRA President Jane Rowan, AWRA immediate Past President Gerry Galloway spoke about the "Challenges of National Water Resources Policy - Moving Forward, or Not." This first event of the newly revitalized section brought together professionals and students from across the metropolitan area, including many AWRA Directors and previous AWRA National Capital Section members.

This event is the first of many planned to continue the tradition of the National Capital Section to begin and continue conversations across water resource interest areas, from federal and regional to local, bridging science and policy, across utility, academia, and consulting. The AWRA NCR is currently planning the next event, November 12, when EPA Assistant Administrator for Water, Benjamin Grumbles, will be the guest speaker.
