The thiophthalimides include captan, captafol and folpet; no systemic poisonings in humans have been reported; [EPA Pesticides] Captan is an agricultural fungicide that has caused occupational allergic contact dermatitis usually after airborne exposure. [Marks, p. 267] Allergic contact dermatitis also reported in hairdressers, painters, polishers, and varnishers; [Kanerva, p. 1134] In high-dose reproductive animal studies, captan causes testicular damage and fetal losses. It is a possible teratogen. [Frazier, p. 232-4] |
