U.S. Labor Department's OSHA to offer workshops and keynote remarks during four-day safety and health conference in Naperville, Ill.

NAPERVILLE, Il. -- Officials from the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will offer workshops and a keynote address during a safety and health conference September 24 through 28 at Northern Illinois University in Naperville, Ill.

The 19th annual Chicagoland Safety and Health Conference is for employers, employees and other parties interested in safety, health, environment and emergency preparedness. The OSHA Training Institute will lead sessions on the agency's Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) and its Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Programs (SHARP). Additionally, Debra J. Zubaty, OSHA's Columbus, Ohio, area director, will provide remarks.

Overall, the conference will include more than 45 sessions on safety and health topics related to industrial hygiene, safety in construction, safety in general industry, environmental safety and safety management.

The conference's co-sponsors are the American Society of Safety Engineers and several local chapters, as well as the Chicago section of the American Industrial Hygiene Association. It is being held in association with federal OSHA, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity's On-Site Safety and Health Consultation Program, Northern Illinois University and the National Safety Education Center.
